Yes, our mobile freezers come with 3-tier shelving down one side of the unit. This provides flexible storage options for your frozen goods. In the Freezer Size 47 unit, there are shelves down each side that can be removed if you require more floor space. This allows you to customize the interior layout based on your specific storage needs.
Setting up the mobile freezer correctly is crucial for its safe and efficient operation. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Choose a level area for setup. This is essential for proper operation and drainage.
- Adjust the jockey wheel up or down until the freezer is visually level.
- Wind the jockey wheel down by 6 to 8 turns so it dips slightly to the front.
- Lower the back legs to the ground and hand-tighten the leg clamps firmly. Be careful not to overtighten as this may strip the nut.
- Wind the jockey wheel back up 6 to 8 turns. This places pressure on the back legs and levels the freezer again, ensuring it won’t move during use.
- Connect the freezer to power using a heavy-duty extension lead.
- Allow the freezer to reach its set temperature before loading (this usually takes a few hours).
Remember, the mobile freezer MUST BE LEVEL to operate properly and must have WEIGHT ON THE BACK LEGS to prevent movement during access. When packing up, be sure to lower the front by winding the jockey wheel down before releasing the back legs, which may be under pressure. If you’re unsure about any part of the setup process, please don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance. Your safety and the proper functioning of the freezer are our top priorities.
Our freezers can reach temperatures as low as -20°C in just a few hours. However, the time it takes for your items to freeze completely depends on their initial temperature and volume. For best results, try to pre-chill your items if possible.
Yes, our mobile freezers can be set to any temperature from -20°C up to normal refrigeration temperatures. This allows you to use the unit as either a freezer or a regular cold room, depending on your needs.
Yes, you can tow the mobile freezer yourself. However, there are a few requirements:
- You will need to complete a Self-Tow Bond Form.
- Your vehicle must have a 50mm towball.
- You’ll need a small 7-pin round lights connector on your vehicle, or an adaptor to suit.
- Please note that proper setup is crucial for the freezer’s operation. We recommend reading our guide on how to set up the freezer safely before towing and using it yourself.
Our mobile freezers are designed for convenience and can be powered by a standard household power supply. Specifically:
- The mobile freezer requires a standard 10 amp 240v power outlet.
- You should use a heavy-duty extension lead to connect the freezer to the power source.
- For safety reasons, always use a tagged and tested electrical power lead.
- The freezer will typically reach its set temperature in a few hours once plugged in.
